WSP Seeking Victims, Witnesses Of Cop Impersonator 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
SEATTLE -- Washington State Patrol is looking for victims or witnesses to a man impersonating a police officer in King and Pierce counties.

Andy Paul Hicks, 28, from Cashmere, Wash. is being held in King County Jail on charges of impersonating a police officer and other outstanding warrants, said WSP.

In late September, a trooper found Hicks sitting inside the pictured car in a spot near the 520 bridge where police often park to catch speeders, said Trooper Curt Boyle of WSP.

The car looks a lot like a police cruiser -- complete with a spotlight and a badge on the door.

According to court papers, the trooper recognized Hicks from a King County sheriff's bulletin that called Hicks a "known police impersonator" who had a misdemeanor warrant for unlicensed bail bond recovery in Pierce County.

Troopers said his car was equipped with police radios, a metal ticket book holder and even a cage separating the front and back seats.

Detectives want to talk to anybody who may have had contact with Hicks when he was impersonating an officer or any witnesses who may have see him stopping vehicles.

He may have stopped vehicles in King and Pierce counties or may have identified himself as a police officer during other situations.

Anyone with information about Hicks should call Trooper Detective Sergeant Moate at 425-649-4370 ext 146 or Detective Ruth Medeiros at 425-649-4370 ext 119.
