Description
The White Swan Pavilion is located at the Toppenish Creek Ceremonial Encampment Grounds on Mission Rd south of White Swan, Washington on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Facilities include the Toppenish Creek Longhouse used for ceremonies and religious services, a stick game shed with multiple food/crafts vendor alcoves with electrical power, and a multipurpose building that houses a basketball gym commonly used also as a powwow arena, an institutional kitchen, sanitary facilities and an additional side room. The grounds is in a cleared but natural state and offers ample room for hundreds of campers and plenty of parking. Several families maintain an array of traditional campsites surrounding the property. Entrance driveways to the Longhouse and Pavilion facilities run south from Mission Rd. The facilities are property of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation and emergency services are provided by the Yakama Nation Tribal Police, Yakima County Fire District 5 and the White Swan Ambulance. Use of the White Swan Pavilion is subject to applicable permits, fees and scheduling, contact the Yakama Nation for event bookings.
